In the year 1972 due to generous donation by Shri Dharamsy Morarji Bhatia a full-fledged English medium secondary school was started which was named after his wife, Smt. Maniben Dharamsy Bhatia.
Smt. Maniben Dharamsy Bhatia English Medium High School popularly known as Smt. M. D. Bhatia English Medium High School has completed 50 Glorious Years in the field of education. The school has made a remarkable progress in this dedicated journey.
With the passage of time we have adopted new technology in the field of education. For that we have equipped all our classrooms with computers and smart boards. Apart from that we have a full-fledged Computer Department where students learn from Basic Computers to Advanced Programming.
Smt. M. D. Bhatia English Medium High School has been successful in securing 100% Result at the S.S.C. Board Exam for 30 Years. Out of these 30 years we have made great achievement to secure 20 times consecutive 100% Result at the S.S.C. Board Exam.
We not only excel in education but also focus on all round development of our students for which we send them for various DSO, MSSA and other inter-school competitions.
Our young cricketers had been a winner of the prestigious Harris Shield and Giles shield.
We are also giving coaching in various sports and athletics, gymnastics, badminton, chess, volleyball, carom, karate, drawing, singing, dancing etc.
We have Red, Blue, Green and Yellow houses in the school. Various Inter-House competitions are conducted in the school. It helps the students to be more creative and imaginative.

We, as a family, strive to make sure that every student at Smt. M.D. Bhatia English Medium High School imbibe the necessary values of humanity, unity in diversity and brotherhood based on our rich heritage and culture. At the same time, we believe in placing the boon of knowledge in the hands of the students and providing each student with the opportunity to expose themselves to a wide spectrum of co-curricular and extra- curricular activities including life skill improvement, language development, sports, dance, singing etc.
Each child is uniquely talented. All she needs is a little push. On the academic side, the 2020-21 batch of our S.S.C students brought us glory which helped us to achieve 100 % result for the 23rd year. My heartiest congratulations to each and every one of them. I would like to use this platform to thank all the parents for their unflinching faith, trust and encouragement and look forward to receive the same over the years ahead.
We are selflessly working towards providing a wholesome learning environment, for a balanced and all-round development of the students. During this covid-19 pandemic online lectures are being conducted on daily basis since we believe that education cannot stop at any cost. The school management had been kind enough to provide mobiles to needy students so as to attend online lectures.
I feel honoured that my students are spread out throughout the globe in the form of Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Chartered Accountant, Novelists, Film Actors, Film Directors, etc.
I extend my gratitude to our PTA members, School Managing Committee, School Development Committee, Vigilance committee and the various committees involved for their untiring support through the ups and downs. This is an institute that’s been a symbol of Ghatkopar for the past 46 years but the evolution process must continue.
